cannot select columns to viewed email folder

Dear all,
Is that WLMD not allow user to add/remove columns to be shown like OE? I've found that the View->Columns function is here but there is no response when I select it.
However, if I'm at the newsgroup folder, it will allow me to choose the columns to be displayed.
